What Is Included in the New Jersey Payroll Calendar?

The file is built for New Jersey employers, payroll teams, accountants, HR teams, and operators who want fixed payroll compliance dates visible before quarter-end and year-end pressure hits.

New Jersey withholding

NJ-500, NJ-927, NJ-W-3, W-2, and 1099 dates

Monthly NJ-500 reminders for first and second months of each quarter, quarterly NJ-927 withholding return reminders, and February 15 year-end New Jersey W-2, NJ-W-3, and 1099 filing reminders.

New Jersey employer accounts

NJ-927 and WR-30 wage-reporting dates

Quarterly Department of Labor wage-reporting and contribution reminders reflect NJDOL's 30th-day rule, including the no-extension note for weekends and holidays.

Federal payroll

IRS deposits, Form 941, FUTA, and year-end forms

Federal monthly depositor reminders, Form 941 dates, conditional FUTA checkpoints, federal year-end payroll forms, and conditional extension reminders are included as a planning layer.

Wage and rate setup

Minimum wage, UI, DI, FLI, and wage-base reviews

January setup reminders help payroll teams refresh New Jersey minimum wage, UI/DI/FLI worker rates, taxable wage bases, and wage-hour settings before the first payroll of the year.

Payroll operations

Payday timing and annual controls

Annual review reminders cover regular payday timing, New Jersey wage-payment rules, earned sick leave controls, construction contractor withholding, and weekly-payer status.

Banking and state holidays

Federal Reserve and New Jersey holiday layers

Holiday reminders help teams plan around direct deposit, ACH, state agency availability, and payroll tax support timing.

Important: Some obligations cannot be fully scheduled in a generic file. New Jersey weekly withholding payers, IRS semiweekly depositors, IRS next-day deposits, actual paydays, and employer-specific liability thresholds still need payroll-system logic and company review.

New Jersey Deadline Logic Behind the File

New Jersey payroll calendars need more nuance than a simple quarterly list. The file separates recurring dates that can be calendared from activity-triggered obligations that belong in payroll operations.

Quarterly NJ-927 and WR-30 dates

  • NJDOL layer: NJ-927 and WR-30 reports and remittances are due by April 30, July 30, October 30, and January 30. NJDOL states there are no weekend or holiday extensions for that employer-account layer.
  • Taxation layer: NJ-WT withholding instructions treat Form NJ-927 withholding dates with next-business-day adjustment when a due date falls on a weekend or holiday.
  • Calendar result: The file includes both layers so teams see the stricter DOL close date and the adjusted withholding date where they differ.

Monthly and weekly withholding

  • Monthly NJ-500: Monthly reminders are included for the first and second months of each quarter, generally due on the 15th day of the following month with business-day adjustment.
  • Third month: The third month of each quarter is handled through the quarterly NJ-927 filing cycle.
  • Weekly payers: Weekly payer dates depend on pay-period frequency and are not fixed without actual payroll dates, so the calendar includes rule notes rather than guessing weekly deadlines.

Calendar Detail by Year and Category

The downloadable file contains 364 events. Calendar years 2026 through 2030 carry the main planning reminders, and early 2031 closeout dates are included because they belong to the 2030 payroll year.

Recommended Google Calendar Setup

Name:
New Jersey Payroll Dates 2026-2030 - TimeTrex

Description:
Imported TimeTrex New Jersey payroll deadline calendar. Safe to hide, recolor, edit, or delete separately from my primary calendar.

Import, Subscribe, Edit, or Delete: Which Should You Choose?

The self-hosted .ics file can be used two ways. Importing is best when users want control. Subscribing from URL is best when users want a feed-style calendar and do not need to edit each event.

Recommended: import into a new calendar

  • Best for editing: Imported events can usually be edited like normal Google Calendar events.
  • Best for cleanup: Delete the separate calendar later without touching your primary calendar.
  • Best for testing: Hide or recolor the New Jersey payroll calendar while you decide whether to keep it.
  • Tradeoff: Imported events do not automatically update if TimeTrex publishes a newer file later.

Optional: subscribe from URL

  • Use the URL: In Google Calendar, use Add calendar, then From URL, and paste the TimeTrex .ics link.
  • Good for read-only viewing: A subscribed calendar is usually less editable than an imported calendar.
  • Cleanup: If you do not own the calendar, remove it with Remove calendar, then Unsubscribe.
  • Tradeoff: Google controls refresh timing, so updates may not appear immediately.

How to Manage the Calendar Later

Creating a separate New Jersey payroll calendar gives users a clean exit path. They can test the calendar without mixing 364 payroll events into their primary personal or company calendar.

Keep it, but make it easier to scan

  • Hide temporarily: Under My calendars, click the checkbox or color square next to the New Jersey payroll calendar.
  • Change the color: Hover over the calendar name, open the three-dot menu, and choose a new color.
  • Edit one date: Open the event, adjust the title, note, or reminder, and save it to the New Jersey payroll calendar.

Remove it cleanly

  • Imported calendar: Go to Google Calendar settings, select New Jersey Payroll Dates 2026-2030 - TimeTrex, then use Remove calendar and Delete permanently.
  • Subscribed calendar: Go to settings, select the subscribed calendar, then use Remove calendar and Unsubscribe.
  • Do not delete your primary calendar: The dedicated-calendar setup avoids that problem entirely.

New Jersey Payroll Calendar FAQ

Short answers for users before they import a payroll calendar into a personal, team, or company Google Calendar account.

Will the imported New Jersey payroll dates update automatically?

No. Importing the .ics file creates Google Calendar events from the file. If TimeTrex publishes an updated New Jersey file later, download the newer file and import it into a new calendar or replace the old New Jersey payroll calendar.

Why are some New Jersey quarterly reminders duplicated?

NJDOL says NJ-927 and WR-30 employer-account reports are due by the 30th day after the quarter closes even when that date falls on a weekend or holiday. New Jersey withholding instructions separately use next-business-day adjustment for NJ-927 withholding. The file includes both reminders so teams see the stricter planning date and the adjusted withholding date.

Can I create the new Google Calendar from a phone?

Use a computer browser for setup. Google Calendar new-calendar creation and .ics file imports are handled through the browser settings workflow. After setup, the calendar can appear in the Google Calendar app if the account syncs there.

Why does a 2026-2030 payroll calendar include 2031 dates?

Some January and February 2031 deadlines belong to the 2030 payroll year, such as Q4 2030 reporting and 2030 year-end form obligations. Those trailing dates are included so the 2030 payroll year closes cleanly.

Does this include weekly withholding or semiweekly federal deposit dates?

No fixed calendar can know every employer's payday pattern or tax liability. The file includes rule notes about weekly, semiweekly, and next-day rules, but employer-specific deposit timing should be handled inside payroll operations.

Does this replace tax, legal, or payroll advice?

No. Use the calendar as a planning aid. Confirm the dates that apply to your company with your payroll provider, tax advisor, legal counsel, and the latest agency guidance.
