This reference does not include every U.S. routing number. Try fewer filters, open the bank’s account guide, or search the Federal Reserve directory ↗. A missing result does not establish that a number is invalid.
Match the account and the payment. This is a curated reference, not the complete ABA registry or a live bank connection. State filters also include records selected by product, account rule or nationwide instruction; those records are not state-specific.
Catch a typing error and understand the structure before you use a number.
Checks nine-digit format and the ABA check digit, then looks for a match in this reference.
Enter a public routing number. A match does not verify a private account or the person receiving a payment.
These are positions within the routing number. They do not identify the owner, balance, or a branch inside your private account number.
The first digits are part of the routing system, not a reliable lookup for a customer’s present location. Mergers and retained routing numbers complicate geography.
Multiply the nine digits by 3, 7, 1, 3, 7, 1, 3, 7, 1. Add the results. A matching check digit produces a total divisible by 10. All-zero input is rejected. This detects many input errors; it does not prove that a number is assigned or active.

No. This is a curated reference for 32 major banking brands and credit unions, with 300 bank-published routing records. It is not the complete ABA registry or a live payment-network database. A missing result does not mean a routing number is invalid. Use the Federal Reserve directory or the receiving bank for additional institutions and current participation.
A routing number identifies a financial institution for a payment. An account number identifies a specific account at that institution. Routing numbers are public; your full account number is private. Never post a check image containing real account details in a public forum.
There is no universal U.S. account-number structure that separates a bank, branch, product and customer into fixed digit ranges. This page explains the routing/account/check blocks and records the limited bank-published account rules. It cannot infer an account owner or reconstruct a masked account number.
ABA routing number and routing transit number refer to the nine-digit identifier. Banks can designate different routing numbers for checks, ACH and wires. Follow the bank’s instruction for the transaction; do not assume the three numbers are interchangeable.
Generally use the state or region where the account was opened, not your current address. Some banks instead use account length, account digits, product type or legacy-bank history. The bank’s signed-in instructions take precedence over a general state chart.
No. A passing mathematical check can catch common typing errors but does not confirm current assignment, ACH/Fedwire participation, account existence, ownership, available funds or a legitimate payee. Independently confirm the receiving instructions. The OCC notes that scammers can use valid routing numbers.
A debit card number is not your checking-account number. Deposit slips can contain internal routing information, so use your bank’s direct-deposit instructions or a current check when appropriate. If the layout is unclear, ask the bank instead of guessing from position or length.
U.S. bank accounts do not use IBANs. International incoming wires may require a SWIFT/BIC code, beneficiary information, an intermediary bank and further-credit instructions. Get a complete instruction sheet from the receiving bank; a domestic ABA number alone is not a universal international-wire instruction.
One number may serve several states or payment types. Bank mergers and product transitions can also create overlapping published instructions. Records describe a specific source, bank brand and usage context; the distinct-number total removes repeated numeric values.
The widget searches its bundled public routing records and performs checks in your browser. It has no bank-login connection, account-number entry field, analytics code or server submission. Copy, download and print occur only when selected. TimeTrex’s surrounding website may have its own analytics and privacy policies.
This independent TimeTrex reference was reviewed on September 10, 2026. It covers selected public instructions for 32 banking brands and credit unions, including account-opening records across all 50 states and Washington, DC.
There are 300 usage/region records representing 237 distinct numbers. Some banks provide personalized instructions instead of a general numeric list. This is a static, curated directory—not a complete registry, live bank feed, payment approval or account-verification service. Transaction labels reflect what the cited source supports; an absent label does not prove that the bank rejects that payment type.
For broader coverage and current payment-network participation, use the Federal Reserve E-Payments Routing Directory ↗. For official registry information, visit the American Bankers Association ↗. Read the OCC’s payee-verification guidance ↗.
Each routing row also links to its specific bank source. Menu labels and banking products can change. Reconfirm the account’s current bank instructions before a payment or payroll update.
